Tesla is ruling the world when it comes to electric cars (at least until some of these other models roll out), but certain companies have been making a mad rush at capturing the rest of the market before Tesla can consider it. One of these, of course, is motorcycles. One of the companies looking to establish a name in this niche is, of course, Harley-Davidson.

Harley has its new LiveWire electric bike that looks like everything you'd expect coming from a company like Harley. It isn't futuristic to a degree that it looks like it is going to take off and into the sky. It doesn't look like it was designed to mimic the latest luxury fad. Instead, it was designed to look like a motorcycle.

For the most part at least. Although it doesn't look like your typical Harley. Instead, it takes the approach of your standard crotch rocket. I won't mention any names but I'm sure you've already matched up a few in your head. Regardless, it looks more like a motorcycle than something from the future.

It's what's underneath the skin that matters when it comes to something different. It may look like a standard crotch rocket on the outside, but it drives like a Tesla on the inside. It can accomplish 0-60 in around 3 seconds, meaning you could absolutely take this for a quarter-mile challenge. This bike comes with a lot of power thanks to its 105 horse-power Revelation motor, which can get you up to 146 city miles on a single charge. (95-146 depending on stop and go traffic conditions).

It also charges pretty quickly using any public Level 3 DC Fast Charge station. You can get it to an 80% charge in just 40 minutes and an hour for a full charge. So that's 10 minutes for every 10% charge. So you could essentially take it for short vacation out of state if you don't mind stopping for a quick meal halfway. You won't get far though, so this is intended for city driving more than anything.

You can also (of course) plug it into a simple every-day wall outlet as well, although it would be for overnight charging as the charge would be much much slower (like any electric vehicle).

You can switch between performance modes that adjust specs for various situations. It comes with 4 default modes that include sport, road, range, and rain. Then it offers the rider 3 additional custom modes where they can adjust performance to their own needs, including power, regeneration, throttle response, and traction control.

Best of all, it will only run you around $30K. It, of course, can climb from there as you customize some things (but only a little), but it remains a nice starting point when compared to the average price of an electric car (although that average continues to get better through time).

The LiveWire is available right now from certain Harley-Davidson dealerships. So if you want one, you could have one today. Although I'd call around first to make sure as not all Harley dealerships carry them just yet.
